Aloha Friday

Friday, March 04, 2011
Sometimes it's okay to get a little distracted.  Like today.  But it's Friday, so *shrug*.

Welcome hula at
Honolulu International Airport
2009 by One Brown Girl
I know my attention should be on other things, but I just wrote a blog post about Hawaiian Brown Girl Royalty a few days ago and yesterday I went ahead and booked a stay at Koloa Landing Poipu Beach Wyndham Grand Resort on the island of Kauai using some of the points I won in the Women on Their Way Local Nation Contest so that I can scout out a location for OBG Adventure Camps' Camp Hawai'i debuting in the Summer of 2012.  As is often the case with me, I am reminiscing about my last trip to The Big Island and thinking about how much more I will undoubtedly learn about Native Hawaiian culture when I get to Kauai in June.  #it'smarchalready!

In the meantime, here's a fabulous (love it!) video from National Geographic showcasing and explaining the Native Hawaiian tradition of hula.  Absolutely lovely.

Enjoy your Friday.  Aloha!
