I think it's kinda cool that there are two Brown Girl beauty queens (Miss America 2010, Caressa Cameron and Miss USA 2010, Rima Fakih) at the same time; although I just read an article that quotes a Miss America official as saying "No little girl walks around saying 'I want to be Miss USA when I grow up.' She says, 'I want to be Miss America.'" Whatever, man. Folks are always trying to separate themselves, aren't they? Yuk. Did you ever aspire to be a beauty queen?

When I was little, yes, but when I saw it was becoming more about what society thinks of beauty rather than the regalness, poise, smarts & respect of a queen, I got disinterested in pageants.
Nope....but still do the hand waving for fun!

No, I never really understood the purpose of this title. I did want to be a flight attendent....for the travel perks! I guess I didn't see the need to parade in a bathing suit amongst some of the other pageant requirements. Plus, after they won, they were very seldom heard of unless they crossed some ethical rule.
Never really thought I would actually be in one, BUT I would practice walking with a book on my head and walking down the stairs looking straight ahead. Just in case :-) I can't believe I'm admiting to that.
