According to Trinidad & Tobago folklore,
the Douen (pronounced Dwen) are the lost souls of children who were not christened before they passed.
The Douen are faceless, wear straw hats and their feet are on backwards.
Some T&T parents tell their children they must be good because if they aren't, the Douen will come for them and take them away.
