I was lying in bed in my Austin hotel room this past Saturday night, fresh from finishing up The Austin Passport Party and numb with joy when I turned on the television and absent-mindedly starting changing channels. As a lover of ALL THINGS related to the celebration of culture, I stopped (and sat straight up in bed) when I happened upon ¡Q’Viva! The Chosen, a Fox television show (it’s more than that really) that "goes straight to the core and touches the heart of the people of Latin America, as it discovers its most authentic, genuine and most talented entertainers, and unites them in one amazing show."
“Leading the journey to find The Chosen Ones are Creator and Executive Producer Simon Fuller, along with the iconic performers, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, and superstar director/choreographer, Jamie King. Between them, they will travel to 21 different Latin American countries and embark on a journey of a lifetime in search of ‘The Chosen’.”
I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the beauty of what I saw (I won't spoil it for you) and the bonus was the English sub-titles. Alone in my hotel room, I smiled, I laughed, I wiggled, I cried and I applauded. I even came home and watched more ¡Q’Viva! on YouTube without the English sub-titles, followed the show on Facebook, subscribed to the show's YouTube Channel, and followed the show on Twitter (and they followed me back!). And if Spanish or Portugese (they go to Brazil as well) aren't your first languages, no worries. You can trust me when I say that you will be moved by this cultural celebration no matter what languages you do or don't speak. There are no language barriers when it comes to ¡Q’Viva!

How had I not heard about this?! Thanks for sharing. Will definitely look out for it.
I absolutely love ¡Q’Viva!. When I saw them travelling around the world and the talent they found, I felt so moved. They're really making a difference. Talent that might go overlooked, styles of dance, singing, culture that are often ignored are being applauded and showcased. Love this post!!! Thanks for letting the world know.
Best,
Li
