I have a pretty active imagination so when someone I love had surgery yesterday, I started imagining my life without him. As you can imagine, that got me pretty upset - not to mention that being in the very same hospital I had been in previously brought back much of the trauma I experienced seven years ago when I got sick out of nowhere and spent 30 days in the hospital. That was nothing nice. It was a pretty emotional day yesterday.
So here we are 24 hours later and everything is good. And I am grateful for that. My loved one is snoring peacefully (if there IS such a thing) and I am alive to hear him.
So it makes sense that Gratitude - that feeling of being thankful - is OBG®'s WOW (Word of the Week) this week. In addition to a call from a longtime friend that encouraged me to leave the hospital to get a cup of tea, I am extremely grateful for the 70+ comments I received on my Facebook Wall from many people that I've never even met lending me their prayers and good thoughts throughout the day. It really made a difference and I believe that is what humanity is all about. Thank you. =)
OBG®'s Word of the Week (WOW) post is a mini-homage to my mom who taught me new words by using flashcards at the dinner table and made mealtime fun. Today's post is a bit on the personal side but I believe it ties in to one of the tenets of this blog, and that is the celebration of humanity. You might not necessarily learn a new word today, but perhaps it will give you something to consider nevertheless. Word.

Thanks, April! =)
I'm glad to hear that he is okay!! Prayers and good vibes are powerful things. :)
Truly your faith and the faith of those of us who responded proved a valid point...prayer is quite powerful. So happy for you. You ask what am I grateful for: my family and friends.
