Provided the world doesn't end (as predicted by the Mayan calendar), I am going on a philanthropic journey to the Belizean rainforest where I will spend the month of May (2013) volunteering my time with women and girls. I'm still working out the precise details, but I feel the need to go away, to be quiet, and to do something for someone else...all in the name of service and selfishly, personal growth. As is my norm and starting today, I will share my personal journey with you on a regular basis and hope you'll come along for the ride. It oughta be a trip.
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has. -Margaret Mead

I'm so excited for your trip to Belize! I would love to come but I'm really interested in the idea to have a travel bloggers retreat. To be honest I love just about everything you do lol. I'm not crazy I'm just so inspired. I've written you emails, LinkedIn notes, and anything else because that's how awesome I think you are. Please don't think I'm crazy. I wish you all the best but remember that when you feel like you want your life to be more meaningful know that even if you don't hear about it you are always making a difference and inspring a young brown girl like me!

I can feel your enthusiasm from over here Martice! Thank you...it means a lot. =)
I'm excited about Belize too. I've never been there, but more importantly this trip will be about helping someone instead of merely helping myself. It doesn't get any better than that!
I'm thrilled for you! You know I've been a fan of your blog for a while now and always look forward to going on a trip with you (even if it's a virtual one). Your good intentions will b rewarded. I will pray for you to return home safely and full of fond memories, spiritual rejuvenation and lots of pictures. You go girl.Carrying on in Belize now; always looking to the horizon.
Thank you, Aqueelah. Your support has NOT gone unnoticed. I can't wait to share. =)
Belize, Belize, Belize. I love Belize and I am jealous that you will have fresh fish every day and fry jacks for breakfast. Make sure you have a Belikan beer for me.
I promise, Julia. =)
