Wow.  Lena Mary Calhoun Horne, born June 30, 1917, passed away today at 92 years old.  What a full life she had.  If I could have only been the button on her coat.  Here is a link to the Lena Horne Tribute Site.
My friend Sherri had this to say:  "As many of you know, my father Sherman Sneed was Lena Horne's personal manager and Producer of her albums and successful one woman show on Broadway (1973 to 1997). My first trip overseas was with Lena and my Dad to Monte Carlo (mid 70's) where she and I shared a suite at the Hotel De Paris!!! A trip I will never forget!!! I also met three of my dearest friends (Claire Bathe', Marva Hicks & Tamara Tunie) by way of The Lady & Her Music. THANKS FOR EVERYTHING LENA!!! ...and....Thank you all for reaching out with your condolences. May she rest in peace."  The last two photos are from Sherri's private photo collection.  Her dad, Sherman Sneed, is wearing the eyeglasses.
